About
About Us
Stretch Brandenburg was a longtime business leader in the Rockdale community and owner of multiple automotive companies in the county, including Del Auto Customs in Honeycreek. As a respected business leader and skilled technician, he was asked to serve as a founding member of the Rockdale Career Academy faculty and a member of the planning committee which developed the principles and design of RCA. He went on to sell his shops to begin teaching full time at the Career Academy in 2006 and continued to teach until his death in October of 2019.
Stretch loved the students in his automotive program and took incredible pride in their successes. Mr. B, as his students lovingly called him, was recognized multiple times as a Superintendent Honor Teacher and was a Rockdale Career Academy Teacher of the Year. During his tenure, he devloped a new automotive restoration program and spent countless hours passing along his love of cars during and outside of class. He also organized the original series of RCA Car Shows beginning in 2015 as a way to highlight his love of classic cars with his students, his colleagues, and the Rockdale Community.
Mr. Brandenburg’s love of teaching and commitment to the community lives on is the thousands of students he influenced and his colleagues who cherish the time they taught and learned alongside Stretch.
